Pesta Blogger 2008: Semoga bukan sekedar pesta

Pesta Blogger 2008

What was wrong with my postings

It’s still regarding posting problem I asked here. I think I’ve figured it out, so I’m posting again to prove that the remedy I performed really fixed the problem. I can’t however explain the detail of the problem, the premises, and the plan. But I will. Up to this point, I saved (without publishing) the post, and the problem happened again. So I did what I thought needed to do. Saved it again, and voila, the problem’s gone! Let me publish this first, so we can really see how it’s displayed on the blog. I’ll continue later.

Update: I have confirmed that the problem was really fixed, no more code shown up in the post. And here is the full story. (Please be patient if you’re reading this now as I’m updating the post).

Last testing, hopefully something can be concluded

So this is the last test and here is thing about the problem….

In the post the problem occured first, I edited and saved many times before I published it. Just after I published the post, the code showed up. I edited again to remove it, but it shows up again after saved. This happens and happens again.

I then asked to the forum about the problem, and some suggested to contact support, so I did. The answer from the support team came very fast, stating that the code was removed. I went to the public view of the post and see that the code wasn’t there. So I went back to the editor, added insignificant change and save, and voila, the code was there again. (I save the draft of this last testing post, and nothing happens).

I wrote a testing post [img/png 22KB], oneline post and saved it and published it right away. The code didn’t show up. But it did after I edited and saved it again. I changed the theme (thinking if it’s related) and posted another test [img/png 28KB], the code didn’t show up. I edited this post three times, and the code showed up after the third edit. (I just saved this last testing post for the second time, not published yet, and the code has shown up) *sighs*.

So I haven’t concluded anything, still clueless on why this is happening, how to fix it. BTW, I’m using Firefox 3.0b5 on Linux, Ubuntu Ultimate Edition.

Update (20080607 09:13 WIT): The problem has gone, the following is just the code snippet to show what previously was the problem. The links to testing posts above have been replaced by links to their respecitve screenshoots.

Another test posting

I changed theme to see whether the problem persists. I used digg, and now Andreas09. I’m not sure, however, it will be fixed.

Update: So far so good. Now I’m back to the editor and try to save.

Update 2: No problem, but I published the post differently. Need more test.

Update 3: Bomb! There it happens again! :-(

Title changed

I promoted the blog tagline to take over the blog title role, replacing the old, short, simple ‘san’. What would you expect to see on the site or blog with such title? Say, you bookmarked it and now when you’re a bit stumbled, figuring what to do right now. You go to your bookmark list, playing around that cute little arrow, moving from one entry to another, then ‘san’ catches your eyes. Suddenly, you start thinking, what was this site about? Why the heck did I even bookmark it? May be, following your curiosity, you click on. May be not. Comparing to the new, long, more descriptive title. When you look at it again, some tiny cell located in your head pumps up a reaction: “Oh that one!”, just before you say anyting. See the difference?

The balance of nothingness

Life is just about facing options, considering them, understand their risks and future impacts, choose one of them and live with it, until you cross another path and start the cycle again. Along the way we get confused why things go the way they are. But if we’re fortunate, we have something to learn from. At some point though, I realized something I need the most, something I call balance of nothingness. Yet, I’m still in the process of searching. Until I finally get at the zero point.
